NORTH HOLLYWOOD

North Hollywood was founded in the late 1800s. It quickly developed into an agricultural community, producing vast amounts of wheat, peaches and other crops. Despite the devastation by the 1938 flood, North Hollywood continued to grow. During World War II, it was home to many airfields. After the War many of those airfields were transformed into suburbs for returning veterans, resulting in a population boom.

North Hollywood has had a vibrant arts community with the NoHo Arts District, which includes many theaters, art galleries. Dance studios and cafes, at its core.
