Toluca Lake is a 1.22 square mile neighborhood with a population of more than 8,000 in over 4,000 households. Once known as Rancho Forman Toluca, in 1923, the neighborhood was developed as the first bedroom community of Los Angeles in the San Fernando Valley.  The natural lake was given an asphalt bottom in the 1930s as part of the flood control project that channelized the L.A. River. Since the Golden Age of Hollywood, it has been  a favorite address of the entertainment industry, and a welcoming community for hardworking Angelenos in all walks of life.
