Ad Hoc Committee on Governance Reform Meeting Schedule

LOS ANGELES (April 13, 2023) - The Ad Hoc Committee on Governance Reform, chaired by City Council President Paul Krekorian, will be leaving City Hall to take public comment on governance reform from community members across the City.

Meetings will be held in Exposition Park (South L.A.), Van Nuys (San Fernando Valley) and Cheviot Hills (Westside), as well as at City Hall, which is most readily accessible to the Eastside.

Each meeting will include a briefing from the Office of the Chief Legislative Analyst (CLA), presenting the issues arising from a specific area of redistricting reform, including size and number of Council districts, the process to be used in selecting members of an independent redistricting commission, what criteria or requirements a commission should consider in drawing district maps, and the support systems a commission may require, including a City data bureau to collect and analyze data regarding the City's population and its needs.
