Transformative District NoHo Project to be built directly atop the North Hollywood Metro station

This week the Los Angeles City Council cast the first vote for a major project, to be built directly atop the North Hollywood Metro station, that dramatically increases the housing supply of the NoHo Arts District.

“District NoHo will be a transformative project for this city,” said Council President Krekorian. “This is a truly transit-oriented development that will enable hundreds of Angelenos to live, work, study, shop, and enjoy recreation without driving, parking, or riding in anything other than zero-emission public transportation.”

District NoHo turns what is essentially a 16-acre parking lot into a master-planned, mixed-use community that will provide housing for nearly 1,500 families and individuals at the junction of the Valley’s major public transportation lines. A quarter of these units will be set aside for low-income and workforce housing, more than double the ratio required to qualify for the City’s Density Bonus. “This is a game-changer for the Valley, and provides a model of sustainable development for the whole region,” said the Council President.
