Earlier this week, Council President Krekorian addressed the Board of Governors Meeting of the Los Angeles Area Chamber of Commerce. As our city prepares for the 20026 World Cup, the 2027 Super Bowl and the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic

Games, the Council President outlined the measures the City is taking to address the challenges these mammoth events pose to our infrastructure and transportation networks, and the tremendous opportunities they present to local entrepreneurs.

The Regional Alliance Marketplace Program (RAMP) the Council President has championed gives small and minority-owned businesses a convenient portal to apply for City contracts. Measure M, passed by County voters in 2016, has financed dramatic expansion of Metro bus and rail services, which will be crucial as the city swells with out-of-town visitors. The District NoHo project in Council District 2 offers the City a new model of mixed-income, transit-oriented development that will shape the L.A of the future. The LA100 plan for carbon-free electricity the Council President initiated will ensure that our society and our economy are environmentally sustainable far into the future.
