Valley College Program Prepares Youth For Careers in Law Enforcement and Public Service

Posted on 04/05/2024

This week, Council President Paul Krekorian announced a $5,000 donation to the Police Orientation Preparation Program (POPP) at Valley College.

POPP is a two-year program that helps students obtain their associate's degree in the administration of justice while working closely with active LAPD officers. Numerous POPP cadets have worked in the Council District 2 office while pursuing their education and preparing for careers in law enforcement or other forms of public service.

“The POPP students I’ve worked with bring a genuine passion for public service to everything they do,” said Council President Krekorian. “The entire community benefits when young people like these are given the opportunity to fulfill their potential.”
